Can I just swipe the notification away?
No. Rousr takes over the whole screen when it rings, and the alarm keeps sounding until the mission is done. Snoozes and cancels are limited to a budget you set yourself, so half-asleep you can't undo what awake you decided.
Does the camera or microphone ever record me?
No. Pose detection, photo matching, and speech recognition all run locally on your phone, only while a mission is active. Nothing is saved, and nothing is uploaded — there's no server behind Rousr to upload it to.
What if I genuinely can't do the pushups?
Turn on Mercy Mode for that alarm. After a grace period it halves the reps, so a bad shoulder day doesn't leave you trapped. You can also pick a different mission per alarm — math and memory tiles ask nothing of your body.
Will the alarm still fire if my phone kills background apps?
That's what the permissions during setup are for — exact alarms, full-screen notifications, and battery-optimisation exemption. Grant them and Rousr fires on time on aggressive phones like Xiaomi, Samsung, and OnePlus.
What happens to my streak if I miss a day?
It resets — that's the point of the stake. Your longest streak is always kept as a record to beat, so a bad morning costs you the run, not the history.
Which phones does it work on?
Any Android phone on version 9 or newer. The pushup and photo missions use the camera, and the read-aloud mission uses the microphone — both only while that mission is running.
